Biden slammed for taking a vacation while Americans remain stranded in Afghanistan

President Joe Biden has been criticised by Republicans and some members of the veteran community after taking the Labor Day weekend off while a small number of Americans remain stranded in Afghanistan.

President Biden returned to DC on Monday local time after spending two full days in Delaware

While he was gone, the Taliban announced it had taken complete control of Afghanistan, with at least 100 to 200 Americans left behind.

Republicans have condemned the president for taking time off instead of working to evacuate Americans and their Afghan allies.

Tennessee Republican Diana Harshbarger said the president is prioritising vacationing in Delaware while Americans remain trapped in Afghanistan.

“He’s prioritizing his vacation over the lives of American citizens,” Ms Harshbarger said.

“He kept his promises to the Taliban and he’s breaking his promises to Americans to get them out, and God only knows what will happen if they can’t get out.”
