I don’t think a visit would do much for them anyway. They’d probably get a “sympathetic” story about how he once discovered his Corvette had leaked oil on his garage floor, so he knows what they’re going through. 🙄

I worked in the Stormwater Dept for a company that did work for a large retail company (maybe the biggest in the world). We tried to make changes to stop the impact on a wetland in Ohio. Instead of immediately making the changes to improve the conditions, the EPA got involved and it took 12 years (TWELVE YEARS) for them to do their environmental impact study. By the time they were done, the wetland was gone. We then had to bulldoze the whole thing and start over to recreate what used to be there. It cost tens of millions of dollars, when we could have spent $150K to divert the water to a small stormwater pond on reatiler's property. The EPA didn't care because it was retailer's money they were spending.

Bottomline, when a similar situation happened at another store, the retailer decided to let it be and do nothing. The fines would be cheaper than going through all that again.

Biden visits Maui because the poors whose homes and land was destroyed is going to be stol — err — bought up by his rich friends at fire sale prices. It’s a way of signaling to his fellow elite that they’re going to get this beautiful land back in shape so they can build mansions on the former homes of these filthy poors.

But his rich friends don’t care about East Palestine. They would not want it even if there was never a train crash. So he doesn’t go there. His class doesn’t care, so why should he? Doubly so when they’re mostly Trumpers anyway.

Sounds cynical? Paranoid? Conspiratorial? Maybe it SOUNDS that way, but using this framework to view events through is a remarkably accurate way to make predictions.

Way to heal the divide and bring Americans together Joe! The corporate media and coastal elites see middle America as subhuman. MSNBC recently did a report on small-town America and why they vote for Trump, and it was like a national geographic episode. The way they talked about these people and interacted with them was just demeaning and gross, like they were a different species and they were trying to figure out their behaviors.

well there was no environmental impact report when they destroyed the Nord Stream pipeline so projects are approved regardless of the impact and sometimes the wordiness is only a tactic used to disguise corporate interests or to thwart public interests.
