In my world, every lie that is told creates a scar on ones body. The bigger the lie, the bigger the scar.

Most people have many little scars littering their bodies, as everyone lies for one reason or another.

But, one day, I met a man who had only a single scar upon his body.

But it was massive.

The pale tissue covered his chest, and spiraled out on his back like cracked glass. It slithered down his arms and legs, and broke his face into pieces.

As it turned out, this man was a war veteran. He had served twenty four years in the military before retiring.

In those years, he had fought in the greatest war of our time. The one that split our world open, and tore reality at the seams.

In that war, he had once fought alongside a young recruit who had never seen bloodshed before. A pure, innocent, naive boy.

In one of the most critical battles of the war, the man was fighting alongside the boy. It wasn't looking good for their side. Men were falling around them, holes being torn through their chests and blood spilling everywhere, staining the earth.

And the lie the man told?

"You're going to be okay."

I can feel the paranoia of each layer of lie that is sliced open when the truth is uncovered. Sometimes we all must lie to protect ourselves, this is a universal piece and i love it. Great work King.

The name is Liar, but the style and the high notes, makes it more of a Playful Liar or a Skeptical Fox.
