This is a chilling place, especially seeing it so overgrown. Gorgeous shots and really informative!

There's a similar place in my province (look up Frank Slide) where a mining town was mosly buried by a rockslide, right by what is now a major highway through the mountains. It's a very sombre thing to drive past.

I hiked through the 2 1/2 mile railroad tunnel back in Oct 2005. Three months later it caved in during a very bitter Winter.

The town wasn't wiped of the face of the earth by an avalanche, as you stated in the beginning of the video. The railroad drilled another tunnel farther down the pass. Without a railroad, the town of Wellington was no longer needed. I lived in the town of GoldBar from 2001 to 2019 and Wellington was my playground for 17 years.

😅 well I was in that snow shelter alone when it was getting dark.And I will never take my ass up there again 😂. Some of the dead people have not left.And I am sure there are a lot of people that will agree with me.I did big time research after what happened to me 😅
