The reason why Superman's disguise works is because the person who you are disguising from doesn't expect you to be there in the first place, so even a simple disguise like glasses or facial hair puts them off recognizing you. 👍

Superman's disguise works because of his job and the way he acts and dresses. He slouches, works at a normal job, and has imperfect vision (as far as everybody knows). Nobody would expect a muscular superhero that's powerful and strong to just be working as a writer. Superman is like a shining star that takes away attention from ordinary people, which makes it easy for people to over look the idea that someone like him could be just an ordinary guy.
