Evolution of F-16 Fighting Falcon (F-16A Block 1 to F-16V Block 72)

Показать описание
The US F-16 models are denoted by increasing block numbers to denote upgrades. The blocks cover both single- and two-seat versions. While many F-16s were produced according to these block designs, there have been many other variants with significant changes, usually because of modification programs. More than 4,000 F-16s have been or will be produced for more than 24 nations worldwide. This video presents the evolution of F-16 Fighting Falcon.
Enjoy watching. Cheers!

I had the pleasure of working on most of these variants form blocks 10 to block 60 as a Crew Chief/phase technician in my career with the Air national Guard and later as a Lockheed Martin employee. A total of 33 years. The F-16 will be around for many more!

My dad worked on the F-16 at General Dynamics in Ft. Worth. He took me to the roll out of the first one in 1973. One of the best designed planes ever!

I worked at GD fresh out of grad school in '75-'77. For the rollout ceremony of the first pre-production airplane, the YF was flying the Paris Air Show flight demo nearly over our heads at Carswell AFB. I still have my two molded models of the YFs - one in the red/white/blue paint scheme and the other in the sky/cloud camo coloring. Thanks for bringing me up to speed on all the subsequent variants.

In 1992, when I was 18, I had my first engineering student internship at the F16 factory in TAI, Turkiye. It seemed like a dream. They were good days...

Sometime in the early 2000’s was given a tour of the Fort Worth F-16 production line – they had a mockup of what I think said was the Block 50 intended for sale to Israel – we went outside next to the runway and watched an incredible practice F-16 maneuver demonstration, our own private airshow.

Dorsal spine, conformal side pods and many other add ons, it hardly looks like the original. The F16XL would have had the room for all of that internally. Such a shame they never went into production.

It’s good to see Taiwan sign a new arm deal with US but I think 66 amounts is just too rare

Like the use of Hobby Master models in the graphics.
