as a person who lost her beloved lifepartner to cancer, he worked till the day he died so he could afford pay for all the treatments, i feel sick to my stomach that there are people faking this horrible disease and using other people to gain money in the name of cancer. lets hope carma doesnt get you with this, because getting cancer isnt so funny when u have one and waiting to die. :( people are sick.

Update on cancer girl as of November 2023: she has been sentenced. 100 hours of community service and she has to pay back a charity that gave her money.
That’s it. That was her punishment. Because the PROSECUTOR argued that she had good grades.

I really wanna address the Mikayla thing. It was not about just mascara, if she is lying about this product then her entire review catalogue is now called into question. It's a matter of ethics and disclosure, as she was in fact sponsored by Loreal to post about that mascara which she did not properly disclose. People weren't upset about the mascara itself, they were upset that they trusted someone to be honest and they were lied to. It's about consumer protection.

The Makalya issue is that it was a paid advertisement for the mascara and she didn’t disclose it and then flat out lied about it. From what I hear it’s actually a decent mascara, but not life changing.
The main issue is she’s getting paid to sell us these products, she’s breaking the law by not disclosing it and then lying about its performance.
Allegedly 😉 she also puts on filters when reviewing foundations.
Any influencer getting paid to advertise a product and being deceptive should be held accountable.

The thing with makayla, or however she spells it, is that its not just about the false advertising with the false lash, its that how she did it actually broke the law here in the US. The FTC has laws in place about how to disclose ads and she broke at least one if not more of those laws.
