The 4th Gen Echo Dot has a bunch of new features:
- New Spherical Design (previously hockey puck/circle design)
- LED ring moved to bottom (previously on top)
- Buttons for volume, action, mic off now stick out more and are less flush
- Does not look good when mounted
- About 2 times taller than previous generation
- Weighs about 2 oz more than 3rd gen
- Still has 3.5mm line out to connect to external speakers and power port
- Comes in different colors than 3rd gen
- Charcoal, Glacier White, and New Twilight Blue

It’s hard to argue against such great sound quality plus a strong mediatek processor, and compared to Google’s Nest Audio, I would go for the 4th gen Echo Dot in a heartbeat.
