NOTE: I don't know how Criterion will correct this, I'm advocating for what you should do. You handle it the way you want to. I don't speak for them or can confirm what they'll do.

To be clear, this is upsetting. They usually have GREAT releases, but this looks like it wasn't so great....

The whole "giant book" thing was always a stupid idea that Criterion never should've done. The book should've been completely separate with the movies in an actual box or series of cases.

This has been an issue known all the way back around the time the set came out that I unfortunately have had dealt with in the past. That's why custom Blu-ray cases are SADLY a necessity in order to keep the disc in good condition.

Criterion just reached out to me apologizing for the damage and saying disc replacements were about to be shipped my way, thank you Steven for the advice.

I did buy a standard 8-disc Blu-Ray case shortly after I got my unit, mostly because it's way more convenient and easier to manage than a big book. Plus the fact I don't have to worry about scratching the bottom of them, even though Blu-ray disc are apparently more durable than DVDs.

This is a beautiful set I just received it but I put all the movies individually cases because I do not want them to get scratched and try to take them out as a little hassle So I can advise anybody who wants to get this please do not hesitate to buy These wonderful Remastered collections blue rays of these beautiful 15 KaIJU remastered I highly recommend it but if people can afford it please get separate cases if you want to keep your Blue ray disks from getting scratched Worth every penny for any Godzilla fan I love it I am very happy with my purchase and hope that I was able to give some people a good advice God bless stay safe This brought back all my childhood memories

Screw a new copy. They should just do a box set of actual boxes and not sleeves like how this is done. I would rather buy a cd case for each movie and marker them like some bootleg copies, or buy a cd carry case and label "Godzilla"

Contacting is a good option of course, but seriously, this shouldn't be an issue I feel nowadays

Just checked mine, disk 6 was damn near gone took me 5 minutes to get it out & another 7 to get the glue off, the book is now laying flat. Hopefully I hear back from customer service.

This happened to ALL of my disks for this set. Luckily, they cleaned up just fine. I keep them in a zipped CD case now with all my other godzilla DVDs which works out great 👍🏻

I've kept mine laying down in a box with my other Godzilla DVDs and Blue Rays and I just got done rewatching that set and mine is still fine. Hopefully other people has theirs still in good condition.

This is why i bought extra bluray cases when i bought this thing. The moment I took them out I put them in a normal bluray case and never putted them back in the book.

Thankfully I got two of those big Blu-Ray cases for the set because I already had the issue of two of my discs already slipping inside the sleeves.

Having the same trouble for disc 2, fortunately for me i cought it in time and kept it lying down ever since.

Wow! Thanks for the heads up man, I'll check mine out. Edit: I checked and I have small issues with 4 of the discs, I'll definitely buy the bluray cases. Just contacted them too.

And that's why I bought custom cases off of eBay I had to keep cleaning glue off of the discs in the criterion a nightmare!!
