My attempt at cobbling together some footage showing Elektro the robot from a couple of sources

my grandpa saw Elektro at the 1939 World's fair. hell, he was one of Elektro's operators!

Anyone realize how he was programmed to speak and move at the same time, yet a computer hasn't been made until 1946 and this robot was made in 1936

It would've been Amazing to see these two in a museum today.

What a shame they were lost and damaged beyond repair, such an incredible and ingenious achievement for it's time.

I met Elektro in Mansfield, Ohio about 15 years ago. He was awesome! I told my daughter, you are looking at history here. He was shown in arguably the greatest world's fair of all time 1939. I knew of him from a book I have had since the 1970s.

It would be really cool if the designers then had further designed Elektro to give commands to Sparko. I can imagine telling Elektro a syllabic command, which has him speak to Sparko in the same command rhythm. Which then would have Sparko sit or lie down or something. Idk, maybe even give Sparko a cigarette since it's the 1940s.
