Are Remote Jobs Worth It ?

Work-from-home fantasies are likely to have surfaced if you've ever been caught waiting for a delayed train in pouring rain after a long day at the office.

Some sectors seem to be well suited to telecommuting — one of the nicer phrases for working from home. Most of the time it is. Companies that encourage and support remote work generally report improved levels of employee retention and engagement, reduced attrition, increased employee satisfaction, enhanced productivity and autonomy, and many other benefits.. etc..

A better work-life balance, more control over one's working environment, and the option to pack your own lunch in the comfort of one's own home are a few of the many benefits that telecommuting may provide.

Telecommuting does have some disadvantages, although they are less well-known because the majority of people prefer it.

This is what I wish someone had told me about becoming a full-time telecommuter before I made the leap and started working from my home.
