Reasons this phone stands out to me: No screen cutouts/notches, front facing speakers, headphone jack, and expandable storage. Apart from maybe slightly longer software support, this is the total package.

I still have the Xperia 1. Super excited during the announcements, was what I was waiting for to upgrade. Looks like it was just a dream. I'm forced to go to elsewhere... And I hated my pixel before I had Xperia 1.

I'm the owner of xperia 1v since half year. Right now for me - its a perfect phone so far except 2 things, which kill whole experience completely.
1) Significant buggs like screen stuck. It happens so often, that screen just stucking and I can not do anything expect pressing the Camera-button -> back and then its fine. I was looking for a fix and met a lot of topics, where tons of people suffering of that. So half year - no fix. Its not a heat bug or something not significant. Its really CRITICAL bug, which exist whole time.
2) Camea Auto Mode. Yes, the manual mode will work however you want if you get the phone out of your pocket and then spend a minute of time to apply correct configurations and make a shot. But dont forget - its a PHONE in first place. Most of users need to action a way quickier. At least you could implement 10 sections of saving profiles. Where people could pick one and do a shot. But its not possible. I'm not talking about be better than pixel or iphone. But at least be competetive in the most important today's phone aspect. The Auto Mode right now is just below terrible. It can handle the best conditions, just to shot an envinroment around in sunny day. The worse conditions are the worse are comparison with other companies. And the curve goes dramatically down, not even close to them...

But even 1v's Battery, display, size, shape, audio, 3.5mm jack, performance, heat level - everything is top. if you make it better - it won't remove that dissapointment, which I described above, because 1 iv improvements "already" existed in good conditions.

You are a good sales man. Although the fact how amazing this phone is makes your job easier. This phone is perfect in every respect for me (well a notification LED would have been really nice, maybe for the next iteration), unfortunately it's just too expensive for now. But if it gets a meaningful discount towards the end of the year, more than likely I will be getting one (and give my current 10 iv to my father).

All of my smartphones were iOS-Devices (ofcourse with jailbreak).

First time switching to android and ofcourse it had to be the Xperia 1 VI. For the first time in my life i pre-ordered a product.

I have seen a battery benchmark and iam ABSOLUTELY SPEECHLESS! Normally when it comes to high end phones and battery life the differences aren’t that big when comparing different models to each other. For the first time there is such a big gap between the Xperia 1 VI and the 2nd places 15 Pro Max or S24 Ultra.

This is a real 2 day phone, if not 2.5 for many. + awesome sleek design, 3.5mm jack, wider display (finally), no ugly notch.. the list goes on and on.

AND finally i wont be needing a jailbreak to use my device to the fullest.

PS: Question to Android users
1. since the iPhone 5 iam using a jailbreak tweak which allows me to swipe wherever on the keyboard I want (not only on spaceba as it is in iOs) to move the cursor. Is that possible on android?

2. Can i move the stuff i have on my phone to the Xperia without needing to use a PC?

Please don't give up on the 21:9 aspect ratio 😢. I love it soo much. It's amazing for split screen. Also gives a lot of extra space next to the camera view when taking photo's. And the narrower format makes it fit nicer in my pockets
