Interesting how Jesus told the rich man to give his money to the poor, not the church.

Don't forget about The Curious Girdles and Bonnets that Moses made the Priests wear in Leviticus. Moses "helped" bath them

The "rich young ruler" didn't necessarily have to pay tithes under Mosaic Law unless his business was farming or cattle raising. Jesus didn't tell him to tithe. He told him to give the money to the poor.

Jesus was REALLY bad at communicating. Everything He says has to be explained by a bunch of bible belt seminary graduates who are happy to let me know what He ACTUALLY meant.

Oh nice, tithing is actually destroying my zealously religious brothers' life, as he's *absolutely convinced* that "God actually owns all money anyway" so he HAS to give a sizable portion back to Him...for some reason, even tho God literally has no need for it and *can't* actually USE it (when did you see God pay His bills?). Pretty sure God doesn't want or need His faithful to have to constantly ask relatives for money to get through the week because they gave their hard-earned check away on a regular basis...Hopefully, DOD will have some evidence to share that this is actually NOT the absolute demand people think it is!

This is such a horrible Democratic trope. Everyone wants to feed hungry kids. The issue is some of us know that voting to ask the government to take more of our money doesn't have any chance of increasing the number of kids being fed. We need to fire a couple million people and stop wasting more than 2/3rds of our revenue; and then everyone can eat, and the government won't need to take anywhere near as devastating an amount as they do now.
