2022+ Subaru WRX VS. 2015-2021 Subaru WRX | Which Makes More Power Tuned?!

We look at which WRX is faster, we analyze the tuned 2022 VB WRX and the 2015-2021 VA WRX, and assess which is faster, which makes more power, and which makes more torque. We take data from Stage 1 and Stage 2 tuning from Cobb Tuning and run the math! Great Vid AE! Sharing for context: 22 Limited- drop in K&A, charcoal removed. Asked DMan for a pro tune for highway/street driving. No tracking/hard racing being done. The dyno results to the wheels were 312/354 on 93. I 💗 it!

With that said, on 15k in 2/12 years. So adding that I’m about to get just the Tomei UEL header & have him retune it with same specs. I know there will be power loss & sooner potential for ware & tare. But I put no miles on this thing, & am prepared to deal with what comes. Zero regrets. I’ll will share post UEL results.

My stage 1, E tuned VB is up 40HP and 55 lb-ft over my old stage 2, E tuned VA. Both 93.

I have a 22 wrx with just an intake and e85 and I feel like this is way faster than I intended (370-380whp). I keep the e85 because it's half the price to fill up compared to 93. The problem is, is that it's limited already close to where I'm at. Need a better port injection solution.

My 2022 WRX on CA 91 with 1 gallon of e85 per fill up, with a stock engine, and dyno tune… my car made 320 wheel HP and 370 TQ on a Mustang dyno.

Tuner made it into a little rocket ship. 🚀

i just went over 20k in my 23 vb.... i want to tune it soo bad. Im leaning towards a mishimoto front mount with their intake and maybe a Dmann etune.... also want to get a IAG AOS

Subaru really limited boost from factory on the FA24, that's part of what explains it's massive response to performance mods, coupled with the higher capacity engine.

Just got my Vb tuned.. night and day difference.. and my Va has full bolt ons with e60 blend.. VB will destroy it.

@autoenthusiast just curious where you got the curb weights for each car (assuming they're both base models). i would love to believe these numbers are accurate, but i thought 3297lbs for a VB wrx would be generously low. i would love to be wrong here!

Stock for stock obviously VB. FBO VA vs VB obviously VB is better FBO. Now Ethanol vs Ethanol the VA is much better gains until a tuner tells me otherwise 🤣. I rather take my VA that will soon be boostlab upgraded turbo and other parts over a VB. But cant we all just get along, both has shiiiit transmission but from what im seeing the VB is more sensitive than VA.
