I grew up in the Ries, not only the stone and soil is unique, so is the dialect there :D I lived in Harburg, a town with one of Germany's oldest, largest and best preserved medieval castles. The town is also characteristic in its position which is right where the river which filled up the Ries crater at some point after its creation broke through the crater walls and dug a valley at the western rim. I ended up moving away from this really rural countryside but I remember all its fertile fields and if I dug deep enough myself I'd find souvenirs from the asteroid museum of Nördlingen :) have a great day ya'll!

I wonder which kind of people are happy to settle a *vulcanic* crater...

How many million? Lol. An increase in Electricity / ionization if it atmosphere and earths crust charged up on a global scale - the source was the. Style of the heavens when the planets moved places... within thousands of years, not millions. Zoom out on the geological swirls. It is merely a mark compared to the continental scale of geological scars left over from a storm covering the globe in human memory Your focus is too narrow - the bigger picture was dramatic storm systems like we’ve never seen in modern history. The ancients speak volumes about our skies of antiquity and around the world, the archetypes match across cultures and traditions. Mankind is now living in amnesia - ancestors of survivors with PTSD of the doomsday period they endured. Don’t ignore our universe is teeming with electricity - the foundational ruling force of the cosmos. Myths are history. We need to listen to the ancients - they knew.

Change my mind.

I have been to this crater. During a NATO exercise called REFORGER, I drove into Nordligen. The military maps clearly show the shape of the crater. The church is beautiful and the stones are unique.

And the asteroid probably didn't traveled alone.
The steinheimer basin 40km south west of this crater was probably caused by the moon of this asteroid - much like the Didymos system ESA's Hera mission is targeting.
