Don’t get me wrong sometimes you might have to pay more for quality, that being said If you workout have a decent amount of muscle even a cheaper T-shirt can still get you compliments and build your confidence.

I bought a few shirts that are $33 and I noticed it's made from a heavier cotton but after washing it, it held it's shape and looks new. I noticed with cheaper shirts like $7/$8, they will look terrible after a few washes. Though you get what you pay for when it comes to clothing.

My advice : you can get away with wearing cheap t-shirts but don't get mad when the shirt falls apart after one wash. Shirts around 30-40 dollars should be good enough for you to get a decent quality one. Also get to know what cotton your favorite brand uses.. you can definitely feel a difference

Most expensive tshirt is from ESNTLS, i like how it fits and the overall quality but I also wear $7 tshirts that fulfill a different need just like mentioned in the video

I've been spending about $7 for 100% cotton t-shirts, because I found a brand that fits me *perfectly* … even though I have narrow shoulders and thin arms. I've been spending about $12 for performance t-shirts to exercise in. They don't fit quite as well in the sleeves, but they are excellent for wicking moisture … which is what I need from them.

Different brands fit differently. It was well worth the time I spent finding an affordable brand that fit me well.

I can't see a reason to spend $50 on a t-shirt, much less more than that. The miniscule difference in quality doesn't justify the large difference in price.

Cuts followed by Esntls. Esntls bamboo shirts feel great.

I buy white shirts and dye them myself with aniline dyes from a local dye manufacturer, using salt as mordant.

I'd say it's always best to get the more expensive ones. The cheap ones may cost less upfront but, just like shoes, they wear out a lot faster meaning that you will need to go buy more. In the long run, you could end up paying more by continuing to replace cheap shirts with more cheap shirts than if you had just bought a higher quality more expensive one the first time.
I'd say that includes when working out. The better you feel, the more likely you are to do it. Putting on something cheap and raggedy naturally affects how you feel. Besides, you never know who you will meet while exercising.
For example, a love interest. Pump your arms all you want, she won't see them in something they hang loosely over. Wear something that fits properly and it will make them look even bigger.

The only exception would be if you are doing something that's likely to stain or otherwise damage them like painting walls or something.

I'm not really a T-shirt kind of guy, not even in the summer where I mostly roll up my sleeves on a button up shirt instead or opt for a polo.
But ofc I use one when going to the gym or sometimes just because I don't like to put in any effort that day or other odd reason.
I buy my T-shirts from a standard men's store, middle range quality of the rack stuff, solid colors and 100% cotton or a little elastic 1-3% mixed in. They usually go for $10-15 per shirt.
I think most expensive one I ever owned was my well worn band t-shirt I bought when I snuck in at a bar and concert at age 16-17 with a woman in her 20s. Some fan of the band offered me $100 for it 10 years later.

Most my t-shirts are in the 30-40 range.

It’s enough for a comfortable shirt but not so expensive I care if I have to get a litttle dirty

I buy more expensive T-shirts it's not that I want to but I have to. For example I buy the Calvin Klaine white T-shirts because they are stretch and they don't rip as easily as other regular T-shirts. And also most cheap T-shirts that come in packs have holes already in them, and the more expensive T-shirts don't.

One thing I notice about cheap & nasty t-shirts lately (I'm looking at you, H&M!) is that the seam twists around. New, it goes straight-down, from armpit to waist, but with time starts spiralling around the torso. What is that about?

The most expensive shirt I've ever owned....was my old Tap Out Shirt that cost me $20. lol

I consider T-shirts underwear and not outerwear, so I'm not spending more than necessary on something that no one is going to see. When I was in my early 20's or a little kid, they were outerwear, but after growing up, I found my style and looking like a little kid or rebellious confused 20-something isn't it. However I don't have a problem with polo or golf shirts which are basically T-shirts with a collar and button V-neck and look much better than a T-shirt.

However I do agree with getting cotton or natural fibers over synthetic. As for the quality of cotton, I've never had a problem comfort wise with regular store brands. I've bought some very expensive Egyptian cotton T-shirts and yes the material is thicker, but no noticeable degree more or less in comfort.

Great explanation Thomas. The most expensive t-shIrt I own is a silk Dolce & Gabbana kings printed top. I love the unique style and the silk feels amazing on my skin. The fitt is perfect for me. The 'retail' price was $900 USD. I paid $226.

Is it worth it? It depends on your perspective. Not on the cost of raw material, and arguably not even at the sales price.
The brand name is not printed on the top. I really just love the unique design, silk fabric and fit. So to me it is worth it.

Can you name some brands that fit all the criteria?

Hey Antonio, a new format? I like Cuts and BYLT the best. The T-shirt blends are comparable and durable and available in a large number of styles and colors. I find the Cuts fit my body shape slightly better, but BYLT is close and features a sharper price and a wider variety of color.
