Cross Stitch 101| Real Time Assorted Parking Methods

In my previous parking video, there were a lot of cuts and jumps to keep it a reasonable length. This was livestreamed to show several parking methods in real time, without any cuts, jumps, or edits. learn block by block, line by line, and diagonal parking all in one video.

This was the best 1 hour 30 mins I have spent on youtube, I have been cross-stitching for more years than I want to remember, and to find this tutorial has been a real eye opened, I had never heard of parking before, thank you so much for uploading this, it is really appreciated.

Thank you for making the only parking tutorial that is concise (as concise as it can be for more advanced techniques), makes sense, and is *actually* the parking method and not just “cross country but its in a line.” I’ve tried watching/reading SO many other tutorials and yours is the only one worth watching! Thanks for showing the different options and talking about/SHOWING the pros and cons of each. I’ve been really wanting to try more complex pieces and you just showed me how easy it’s going to be to accomplish that!

Absolutely outstanding tutorial!!! I’m a beginner and to this point I’ve done cross country. I’ve made my share of mistakes way. So, I’m finally caving in with attempting to park. Always gets me when I have to stop with a thread even though there is a stitch right next to where I’m stitching. I guess I just need tunnel vision.

I blame you for throwing me off my game yesterday. LOL I hardly got any housework done because I couldn't stop watching your video! 😂🤣😂 There seems to be a whole science behind the way you do this and it's fascinating!! I learned SO much! So, housework be damned, I'm watching the rest of it today! 😆

Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into this. It's very helpful and very much appreciated! ❤

I appreciate that you explain the "why" behind the technique. A lot of other videos just explain the "how". Keep up the good work! :)

You are the only one who actually made me understand how to do parking

This is the first parking tutorial that had made sense to me. Your explanations are clear, and having the inset of the actual pattern onscreen in the same orientation as your actual stitching made it so much easier to make the connection! It's probably a plus for me that I'm left-handed also.

When I park and using full stitches, I stitch the first half of the stitch and park the third hole. Doing it that way makes it much easier to see which stitch it is that you've parked which works excellent for confetti and it also makes the parked thread less likely to get pulled out (:

FINALLY someone who stitches like me!!! Everyone else creates a half stitches, then comes back. I discovered that creates problems if and when you have to frog. Their top stitches are backwards from me too. Their top stitch slants to the left. Mine slants to right. I SOOOO agree with you.

Thank you! First time I can actually understand what parking is and how to do it. I agree with you, after watching all the methods you show, the first seems to click with how my brain works.

Your amazing! I watched a few before yours and didn't understand a thing. Watching your video made me feel more comfortable

Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I really appreciate how you started from a fresh place each time to really show and explain the versions. I know I will be coming back many times to watch the beginning especially. As you mentioned, in your other video (and in others I have watched) starting at the start is not usually shown in how the parking method is done. You explained the how’s and why’s so nicely. I’ll be restarting my haed with these lessons in mind.

I'm just starting to cross stitch and learning about parking- and this tutorial helped so much! I like to know the different ways things can be done and also why someone would choose a particular method over another, so I can then make an informed decision of what makes sense to me. So that was very helpful to me- thank you! Also, since this is my first video of yours- looking forward to checking out all your other vids!

Definitely the best tutorial on the subject I’ve watched to date. My linear thinking brain could actually process it and have it make sense. I really like the method you started your video with but unsure if I should use it since I’m planning on using 25 count Easy Count (which to my understanding is a blended even weave). What method do you use for your higher count even weave Easy Count fabrics?

I’m here to see if I want to try “parking”. First, great video! I haven’t seen another this good, this in depth. I stitch “in hand”. I’ve never been comfortable using a frame, hoop, stand, nothing. But I’m about to start the biggest project I’ve ever worked on. My question does parking “waste” a lot of thread? Is there a way to guess how much extra I would need? Also, how “bulky” does the back end up being with all that thread everywhere? Thanks

I love your tutorial. It makes me want to tackle a HAED lol. You make it seem so easy. I really like the technological aspect. You do not see that often in Flosstube.
