Remeylination for MS #shorts

THIS could potentially stop the progression of your MS 🤩 and/or recover previously lost function!

I give you: REMYELINATION ✨

This likely isn’t the first time you’ve heard of it, but it’s worthwhile reminding you why researchers are so curious about finding a drug that can remyelinate...

The main reason for the majority of symptoms from MS or any other demyelinating disease 🧠 like Transverse Myelitis, NMOSD, etc. is because the myelin (the protective sheath covering the nerve) is damaged and disintegrated.

Therefore, if we can repair the myelin and/or create more myelin... we could theoretically stop the progression of MS 🛑 + recover some previously lost function (like weakness).

So researchers all over the world 🌍 are working towards finding a drug (or a combo of drugs) that can remyelinate.

Here’s what we know so far (from research presented at the annual MS conference in 2023) 👇:

We need 4 things in order to remyelinate effectively!

⭑1: A therapy to create cells that make myelin

⭑2: Movement to move those cells around

⭑3: A therapy to reduce the cells that are preventing the creation of myelin

⭑4: Something that reduces inflammation

The good news is that while we’re still working on numbers 1 & 3 from above.. you ALREADY have 2 & 4 ready to go...

1 👉 Researchers believe that exercise is one way to accomplish the movement of cells to distribute in many areas vs. just one.

2 👉 We have lots of options to reduce inflammation, including a DMT, light exercise, nutrition, etc.

There are currently no remyelination drugs available for humans, 👩‍⚕️ but researchers seem hopeful one is coming!

I was diagnosed with rrms 29 years ago. I am very lucky that mine has been mild and has been proven stable through MRIs and confirmed by my neurologist. I was in a car accident where I was rear-ended and it affected my l4 disc causing it to be herniated. That accident has been harder on me than ms. I struggle with walking issues now. I am trying as hard as I can to recover. I've had a lot of things happen in the last 4 years to work against me but I don't give up. Working on walking better everyday. My arms and upper body are strong it's my lower body that I'm working on.

I exercise everyday, take my DMT and vitamin supplements. I also eat a healthy diet with lots of colorful fruits and veggies. My plan is to be really ready when the research finds key to remyelination!

That is awesome news! I’m focusing on eating healthier and moving around as exercise. Meditation definitely helps along with having anti inflammatory spices.
