Tiny Tim - I've Never Seen a Straight Banana (with lyrics)

Tiny Tim was born Herbert Butros Khaury in 1932 and died in 1996.
The ukulele playing, weirdly dressed soprano was initially regarded as as a novelty act and released a number of singles and albums from the 1960s through to his death in the 1990s. Latterly the genius of his work was recognised as having more than just novelty value.

This track was recorded in the 1960’s but only released in 2009 as part of a collection entitled I've Never Seen a Straight Banana: Rare Moments Vol. 1.

The song was actually written in the 1920s but I don’t know if either of these two versions feature the original words - I suspect that they were both updated. Of course, in these days of the internet it isn’t that difficult to find a picture of a straight banana !
