DIWALI IN INDIA (festival of lights)

In this week's video, we are celebrating Diwali in India. We're kicking off the celebrations in Udaipur, and eventually making our way to Mumbai for the last day of Diwali.

We found a peaceful, beautiful Diwali in Udaipur (and celebrated my birthday!) before getting amped up for a crazy Deepavali in Mumbai (Bombay), India's most densely populated city.

➤ ABOUT US: Hi! We’re Nick & Raychel, and we want to help people open their eyes to alternative living, whether that be teaching English online, moving to Cambodia, taking advantage of working holiday visas, or building a DIY stealthy camper van to live & work on the road. Nothing is off limits when adventure is the ultimate goal. After three years of living full time van life throught Canada, Mexico and the USA, we're now car camping our way through New Zealand in a Land Rover Discovery 1.

Our goal here is to bring you weekly content where we hope to inspire you to break free & live the life you desire. On this channel, we talk everything from finances to minimalism to working online to mindset and post a weekly vlog of our daily lives. We hope you join us on our journey to see the world, save money, live minimally, and most importantly, have fun.

So if you're looking for a channel about van life, alternative living, and budget travel, you're in the right place.

1:06 Yes, It is an extremely important part of Diwali Celebration…During these festive times, the family comes together to help each other in cleaning out every space of the house, dusting, painting, decorating etc…This is done because the Diwali night is the most darkest night i.e, New moon or Amavasya and 2 important gods are worshipped on that day…Ganesh & Laxmi…The Goddess of wealth Laxmi come down to earth on this particular darkest night to bless the people with good fortune, wealth….& she is welcomed in a cleaned & decorated house….we pray to her that for whole year she resides with us in the form of blessings….and also Ganesh, The god of knowledge is also worshipped to gives us the knowledge on how to manage this wealth as wealth without knowledge is disaster…..

Happy Diwali🪔 The reason behind all the lightings in this festival goes way back, this festival comemorates the homecoming of Lord Ram in Ayodhya after 14years of exile, so the whole city was lit up with diyas and all and thats why we lighten and brighten up every place to welcome lord Ram

Happy DIWALI!!! I really appreciate how you guys accepted the chaos and tried to understand what the festival is about, rituals and customs are; and became a part of it. Unlike some who doesn't care and just try to diss everything. Great vlog! I was widely smiling just looking at your reactions: pure and happy. Thank you and have a blessed stay.
