I'm moving back to New Zealand with my wife @CarrieRadfrom Los Angeles, California. Returning to New Zealand during the global pandemic requires spending two weeks in a hotel room in "Managed Isolation" and if you have Covid 19, then in a quarantine facility. The whole process is run by the NZ army and police and is designed to keep NZ safe and keep the virus out of the country- and it's working. This is why. Join me as I take you through the whole travel and managed isolation process in Auckland, New Zealand. #NewZealand #ManagedIsolation #ShotOnRed

I'm Alex, I'm a travel filmmaker, photographer, and TV host. On this channel, I'll share some travel guides, motivational and inspirational videos from lessons I've learned during my life and cooking recipes from international cuisine using vegetables grown in my home garden. Hopefully, my videos will help you learn new skills, find happiness, inspire exploration, and grow your creativity. Stay tuned friends!

I lost my job with AirNZ due to COVID like many others, I’m now working in a managed isolation hotel. This process is so important to protect our country. And very lucky you can stay in nice hotels. I think some countries will make it like a refugee camp.

Welcome to New Zealand ..I am86 and moved here 11 years ago from the UK.it’s a very friendly place to be and everyone is so sociable .Although we are aware of the MIQ we have no idea as to the actual procedure .Your video has certainly portrayed the way “it” is managed right from arriving and during hotel stay, so thank you for sharing the experience .I am sure I speak for all New Zealanders when I say how fortunate we are re Covid

As a kiwi, it’s interesting to see how our MIQ process works from an internal perspective! Welcome to Auckland!

Thanks for doing this, as a kiwi I've not seen this much detail in people going into isolation. Hope you guys find NZ a welcoming place to live.

I cried seeing the airports its so surreal when here in Christchurch we are living life like the virus does not exist, so grateful to live here, thank you for the vlog I'd been wondering what the quarantine process was like

Very interesting to see how different countries handle incoming travelers isolation ! In France, you are "asked" to self isolate, nothing to check if you actually are following guidelines ... I've heard a lot about how NZ and Australia have managed it, it's impressive !

Watching from the UK and it's fascinating to see a country deal with it so well and efficiently. My cousin has been in NZ since last January, for various reasons she was unable to return to the UK but has had her Visa extended for another year and is now living and working in a hotel just outside Auckland assisting with the MIQ process.
Wishing you both so much happiness with your new life in NZ and can't wait to see you start to explore your new surroundings.

Welcome to New Zealand you two! And welcome back to your 2nd home! As a dual citizen myself I understand how difficult it is being away from your other home(UK for me) and seeing the situation play out from a distance. Kia kaha (stay strong) and arohanui(love) from our household to yours.
