La Traviata (The Fallen Woman), is an opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi set to an Italian libretto by Francesco Maria Piave. It is based on La Dame aux camélias (1852), a play by Alexandre Dumas fils adapted from his own 1848 novel. It was first performed on 6 March 1853 at La Fenice opera house in Venice. [Wikipedia]

I downloaded this two years ago and still love it. This was a fantastic production and the soloists are very, very good. I've seen a few La Traviata's and other operas that have been modernized and I think to myself, how awful. What a way to destroy opera. This is the way it should be done. Verdi would have been very proud. Thank you so much for having uploaded this wonderful production.
