I started track 3months ago, and my first 100m run was 16.19s and after 3 months of training, and practicing. 1 month later, it was finally 100m. After 3 months of pain, my record was 12.96s I was so stoked 😅

As a track athlete I can tell you 0.7 sec is a huge improvement in 100m. Nice job man, hard work and consistent training = tangible and well earned gains in performance!

Excellent job Laurie. You really smashed that out of the park. You were a great pupil and took onboard everything I threw at you. Congratulations on a great result. Maybe we will see you at the 2024 Paris Olympics?

You could move to Jamaica, closest you'll get to Usain Bolt.

The amount of training for sprinting is impressive, and you did a amazingly well, Laurie. Dave was a great coach, chill and very knowledgeable.

Good video. I’ve found it takes 6 weeks to really improve. My main sprint session was 6x40. I did this 4 times per week with a few 100 and 200 reps every second sessions or three and ran 11.6 as a 16 year old off 6 months of this training. Tony Holler (feed the cats) has some good advice for high school sprinters including his 16 minute ‘atomic sprint’ session that is also good to mix in each week.

shoes make a huge difference. not only you can put more power to the ground during the acceleration phase, there is also less energy loss between steps. Honestly, sprinting is a great full body training, and very powerful to get your juices pumping. It just feels a bit out of place when you're doing it alone while everyone is doing casual jogging.

From 13.94 (human timing) to 13.2 (also human timed) all without spikes and starting from almost zero knowledge…
Bro you did so well!
Edit: I was forgetting the most important fact you did it in a month! Good job seriously

Really impressed by how hard you were willing to work for the challenge. We obviously didn't see it all, but it didn't look like you took it easy at all, pushing through and giving full effort. Great job and awesome improvement.

First off huge rap to the coach, coaches are the unsung heroes of world sports, dedicated, committed, supportive and nurturing, great job Dave. Laurie awesome work, and the drop in time was truly reflective of the hard work you did. Great content, thank you all.

I started on 13.46 and 18 months later my record is 11.89 (no spikes) and 11.56 (spikes) . I wish i had improved that much in a month, nice job!

Tips for a first time sprinter, either u can practice it by running and increasing ur speed (hard way) or u could aggravte a dog and make it chase u, TRUST ME, u will run faster than ever before
