Take Your Chess Skills To The Next Level With High-Quality Courses

In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov will teach you one of the most crucial chess strategies: how and when to exchange your pieces.

You’ll discover different scenarios where it's beneficial to exchange pieces, understand favorable vs. unfavorable exchanges, learn how to gain a material advantage through exchanges, avoid unnecessary material loss, and easily calculate these situations.

GM Smirnov will begin by explaining the foundational ideas behind exchanging pieces, and then gradually introduce advanced examples with complex exchange sequences where multiple pieces are involved.

Moreover, you'll learn about the most common mistakes players make during exchanges, so you can avoid them—and capitalize on your opponents' errors when they make these blunders.

Finally, this lesson will help you understand the strategic value of pieces, especially how the King's role shifts in the endgame, and how to effectively use your King when it matters the most.

Hey, I got a suggestion for a video if that's okay. I'm good with openings and getting a good position, but it's hard for me to find attacking plans. Could you do a video on how to find plans of attacks? Right now I just get good positions and react to my opponent's attacks, and since I'm a 1300-1400 player I end up just maintaining my defense until one of us blunders a piece.
