Welcome back, Greenhorn! Now that you’ve run the gauntlet through Kibble Gulch, you’ve arrived at your next checkpoint; Wet Food Junction! You think you got what it takes, kid? You gonna do the right thing for your cats or leave ’em high and dry?

I’ve heard from a lot of you asking about how to best make the switch from one kind of food to another. Fear not, that video coming in a few weeks. But just remember, do it slowwwly. Cat tummies are sensitive and a quick change could make for a quick mess!

When you said you would rather my cat eat the worst wet food than the best dry food, that really opened my eyes.

I find it funny that I am watching all these videos trying to give my cat the healthiest and best while I am here eating sweet popcorn

“Let’s get right into it, shall we?” After 3 minutes of effing around in a cowboy costume 😂❤ lol I love it.

A good tip for people looking at "what food to get" is to look at what country the food was produced in. Singapore, New Zealand, Canada all have higher restrictions for the quality of ingredients put into their food. That's not to say all US brands are terrible but it is something that can definitely help narrow it down.

i tried to do the switch slowly, Wet food at every meal instead of just breakfast and dinner, and more of it. after the first meal Reese stopped even looking at the dry food lol. Her personality has changed drastically, she now comes and sits on the couch with me and is much more into play time. i'm glad i took Jackson's advice

If you don’t mind could you maybe talk some about what brands you recommend and how to interpret labels? I’m curious.

When my cat was diagnosed with feline diabetes 16 years ago I changed half her food to wet and her insulin was cut in half. She lived to 16 years. I appreciate this series and I am now considering transitioning my kittens to a wet food diet. Of course, I haven’t watched the raw video yet. Thank you for helping me be a better cat mom.

The comment about cats reversing diabetes by changing to wet food is absolutely accurate! I had a cat 20 yrs ago who was diagnosed with diabetes at age 10. I got her off the dry food immediately and switched her to a wet food diet with very very low carbs…we got her blood sugars down to normal levels and got her insulin down to 1/2 unit once a day from 3 units 2x a day. That was the only change… I also tested her using a human glucometer to only give her insulin when she really needed it and in the amount she actually needed versus just blindly shooting her up 2x a day as the vets would have had me do back then. Also my old vet was trying to get her to switch to hills science diet DM dry food. When I looked- the carb levels were as high as the original kibble I was feeding her and the ingredients list was terrible, so I didn’t change her diet to what they were recommending. I managed her diabetes until she passed at age 16 1/2 not from diabetes. Thank you for this awesome video. I wish back when I first had my kitty that I knew then what I know now about food…

I recently lost my bestie, a sweet loving 55lb Chow/Shepard mix rescue. I'm realizing that I really want another pet, and my current life situation favors cats over dogs. I'm learning all I can, and I want to have a nice set up/budget/plan before I adopt. I haven't had a pet cat in 24 years! There's so much new and better information out there now! Thanks for all the videos, I'm really enjoying them!

I didn't realize for the longest time that dry food was the only reason why my cat was chunky. She has been on a all wet food diet for 6 months and she's lost 2.5 pounds at 9 years old! I also took her to get her bloodwork done and she was perfectly healthy! I think was only a matter of time that she would have been diagnosed with diabetes if I didn't make that change ❤

"Unless they're being fed by six neighbors."

I look over and give my kitten Peach a look. She is being fed by at least four neighbors. She has worked the system.

I’m incredibly thankful for this video. In 2020 I had to put down my 7 year old cat who had FIV and diabetes and was overweight. Vet recommended me an expensive diabetic kibble, and taught me to give my cat insulin several times a day. Nothing was working, sugar levels were over 700 and my cat was suffering so I put him down. I’m now adopting two kitties, a Ragdoll and Maine Coon in June and happened to watch this video of you saying wet food was the answer. I wish I came across this video last year while my cat was alive, I wish I thought to try a wet food only diet... But now I’m so grateful that now I know to set my kittens on the right path, to stay away from dry food. THANK YOU!

I have been feeding my cats "high quality" dry food for most of their lives; I have always considered myself a responsible owner; this video convinced me to change, and change fast (well, as fast as you can be when it comes to switching a cat's diet!). I now realize that no matter how "high quality" a dry food may seem, it's not the way to go. I can't make up for lost time that I spent feeding dry food, but I will certainly make it so they never eat it again!

Hey Jackson, thanks for another great video. Just wondering if you could talk about age appropriate diets - what's the difference between kitten/adult/senior foods & are they really necessary? 😸 thanks dude, love ya!

I’m so thankful that I discovered you. You are making me a much better pet companion. Thank you from Dexter (about 19), Truman (about 8) and myself (young at heart)

WARNING: Ever since we watched this video, my cat hasn't touched her dry food. Jackson told her to go on a diet and she demains it now!
Also as a diabetic doing keto I think his recommendation should be called "kitto"
