I was able to get back to work yesterday and thanks to an online vendor helping people get doctor's note. It was easy and professional and anyone can use it.

In an honest real world, the employer tries to do the right thing, and if he needs proof, then he will accept it. A toxic workplace, none of this matters. They do not want to b bothered

So if a doctor won't write a specific note and the necessity is explained to them (other than seeking another physician) is there another action to take.

Thank you so much for the information Branigan Robertson, I work in a hostile work environment. I had shingles and had to call out. I shared the information with my boss to keep him informed. Who started sharing it with other employees, who mocked my condition in our department. Are employers allowed to do that? I live in NC. Thank you again for what you do

My Dr went and looked up the requirements and wrote the letter to the requirements. He wanted to make sure it was right before sending it over. So you can ask your Dr to check and make sure the letter meets the requirements.

@braniganrobertsonlaw do you have any recommendations for Employment Attorneys in Dallas, Texas by chance? BTW - I love your videos. They are very informative and made me finally feel sane about what I’m dealing with in the office. Thanks again for the great content and for providing these resources to everyone.

When I go to "the doctor" they usually send me to a physician's assistant or nurse. Will their note still work?

I live in TX. I do not currently want or require accommodations, but can see that coming up as I age.

Since all I want is a stand up desk, I think I will just need to ask at a time the company feels it has money.

One never knows...

My drs put me in a very cumbersome predicament tbh I still have NO idea if it was legal, ethical, or if I should be pursuing some form of legal action with it. (All ears if anyone wants to share thoughts) My therapist and psych both put their heads together, without my knowledge - and decided they would not write me a release to go back to work but also would not write an extension of leave. WHY? Neither of them felt it was a good job for me to go back too……

IF that is LEGAL for them to do, please help me understand how?! 😮

I have a question this is in regard to California law. What if the employer doesn’t ask for the medical documentation? If I’m not mistaken, there’s nothing in the law that says “I” the “employee” has to be the one to give them the medical documentation. The only thing that the law requires is to inform the employer of my medical disability and what accommodation is needed “unless”, they ask for it. If they ask for the medical documentation and the person does not provide it, the court can sees this as a break in communication but what if they fire you when you were trying to get the documents because your medical appoint wasn’t arriving, so the employee did get the chance to give them the medical documents because they were terminated.

Also, can you make a video on why social media is a big deal. lawyers don’t really talk about this.

I never tell the employer anything!
When you tell the employer too much they start acting like armchair doctors.
Now I just tell them that there's a medical situation, these are my limitations, what are you going to do about it?
