I'm an old 80's and 90's gamer. The backlog of good games I want to play is so large, I never pre-order or pay full price. I simply wishlist any games I see that comes out I'm interested in, and wait for a 75%+ discount to buy, then they join the backlog... And I don't get suckered into any scams, pre-order crap, and games are fully patched and playable by the time I get to them - or mods are out that help with anything I want to do. I encourage all of you to join me to help stop these crappy publishers from their shenanigans.

Patience can be a great money saver. By effectively keeping myself 2-3 years behind on current games, I'm able to regularly buy games that are still new and exciting for me, but only cost a fraction of their original prices, and often come bundled with DLC...not to mention most of their issues already being patched!

I'd also recommend Shadow of Mordor, when it is on sale it is usually quite cheap, and a great experience.

Seeing Anthem on sale for $1 was absolutely wild

Thanks for the incredible list Falcon!

The fact that a lot of these games have been discounted by up to 50% within a year of launch kinda shows that Publishers are scalping customers and increasing prices to £70/$70/€70 unnecessarily in my opinion.

A weekly video like this would be awesome.

I picked up the RE 4 Remake in the December PS Store sale in the UK for just under £24 and it was a fantastic bargain.

I saw the Mass Effect Legendary Edition at $11 on PS5. Immediately bought it. Absolutely WORTH

My problem is that when games go on sale for this cheap, it's only a matter of time before they end up on PS+ and Extra. I know the Extra tier isn't worth it for everyone, but so many big games end up there within a year or so. I will not be surprised if Wo Long, Spongebob, and Street Fighter end up on those within 7 or 8 months.

If you can wait, Ubisoft games generally go on sale very quickly - like all of them, even if they sell well. I've also seen EAFC24 for more than half off, UFC 5 for 40% off and NFS: Unbound is a little older, but it's basically free now.

Steep and Immortal Filx Rising are 90% off on Steam right now. Haven’t seen such deep discount from Ubisoft for a while

The thing about "recent" games is even if you somehow get them at dirt cheap prices, their DLCs are still at full price & they are all much more expensive than the actual game itself in total. They just made it much more lenient for you to access the rest of their much more expensive stuff.

Gotham Knights for $17 on Xbox was actually really nice and that was the Deluxe edition. I’ve actually played the shit out of it with zero regrets and no chance I would have spent $70-$100 bucks on the game. But for just under $20 after tax. Really fun and totally worth it

For the Dead Space Remake, you can also play the game for way cheaper in Game Pass, well, as long as you don't mind not keeping the game permanently in your library. You also get access to other great games recently released like Lies of P, Renmant 2 and Like a Dragon.

I picked up 27 games during the winter sale. Spent about $265 in total, so about ten bucks a pop on average pretty good deal.

Probably the best deal i got was Control for $10 and Alan Wake for $6. Never played them before, but really glad I picked them up. Finished Control tonight, awesome game.

Picked up god of war 2018 for $5, horizon zero dawn for $5, red dead 2 for $15 and gta v for $15. All which gave me hundreds of hours each over the past year as a person who doesn’t usually game, using my old dusty ps4. They still run amazingly and the graphics on red dead 2 are insane

Nier Replicant 1.22 is $24 on a sale. I pre-ordered the white snow edition when it came out. It was much more than that! Heck, when I built my new PC recently, I paid the full $60. 100% the game both times. Well worth it.

I even bought the game for 3 cousins, and my brother in law and my sister. Waiting for the Switch port, too. So yes, $24 is dirt cheap. Also, Automata is $16 on sale (bought it twice). Wish I could buy these games for everyone.

Great video! Also worth mentioning, if you're a physical game collector, "Buy X for the price of Y" sales at places like Target or Amazon are amazing for getting new-ish games for ~30% off or more, effectively, if you pick the right games to buy. Probably within a year after release, a lot of great, new games get included in those kinds of sales, and the sales themselves happen multiple times a year.
