The story of why Umer removed Khalid ibn al Walid from leadership wasn't for giving a fake poet Monet etc. He removed him because people were thinking victory comes from Khalid & not from Allah, Khalid after victory after victory he was know as a legend & Umer wanted to squash the idea that victory came from Khalid & it only came by help of Allah.
