Good video. Very helpful. I just started practicing with the fish eye lens and this video was super helpful.

Random additional tip - to run the exif command on every photo in a folder: for %f in ("./*.jpg") do (exiftool.exe -tagsfromfile SRC.jpg "-ALL:ALL > ALL:ALL" "%f")
This will copy metadata from the same SRC to every other photo, so it may not be practical if you need other tags in tact that differ per photo - but for my purposes it means EOS VR Utility will pick up every photo from the folder and perform the calculations without having to craft the command by hand for each one of a load of photos. It has worked fine for me, so I believe it only uses data that is the same for each photo (ie, I'm not sure the aperture etc would make a difference to the actual parralax correction). Anyway - it works for me! Your mileage may vary.

Also - thanks so much Hugh - your videos are awesome!!

Hugh Can you go over the best recording settings for the new Canon R5C? trying to figure it out, recording formats etc. Thanks so much!

Thank you for the great educational videos you have been making specially for 180 VR stereoscopic! My question is if you have ever stiched two identical 180 degree videos (copy paste) together with Mistika or Premier pro to create a stereoscopic effect? Or is the 63 mm distance of the left camera creating a slightly different image than the right camera?

This is the VR tutorial in the world!! In VR Utility, ehich file format do you export it at? H-264 (apply LUT)?

Thanks for the detailed CLOG video setup tutorial! Also, I'm glad I can help out my fellow photographers with my Raw photo hack! I posted a longer response earlier on my PC stating that I have a mostly smooth solution (with one unfortunate hurdle) to successfully editing Raw video but it's not showing up on here. I tried posting a 2nd time but it's still not showing. Anyways, my ExifTool Raw photo hack does work with batch copying and pasting metadata to multiple Jpegs at once!

Great video as usual, Hugh I finally got my R5/Dual Fish eye combo. Your video has been of great help! I had trouble converting to ProRes using the EOS VR Utility. Like someone commented, I had to use H.264. Is this a notable loss of quality? Thanks again for your work!

Hey everyone. I want to share an update. I have found a process to editing RAW Canon VR video footage. I will list the steps below.

1. Open up the Canon RAW VR video file in Adobe Premiere and make corrections to the picture, make trims, etc. as you like
2. Export a JPG file sequence with the resolution 8192x5464 (make sure to preserve the original aspect ratio)
3. Use ExiftTool to batch copy and paste the metadata from an original R5 JPG taken with the VR Lens into the resized JPG's
4. Open up one of those JPG's in the EOS VR Utility software and allow it to make corrections to it (you can adjust them if you like)
5. Close the program.
6. Delete all the XML files created in the folder except for the one related to the JPG that you made corrections of
7. Make many copies of the XML file that you made corrections of the JPG file with the same name (enough to match the same number of all the JPG's in the folder)
8. Use a program like "A.F.5 Rename your files" to batch rename all the XML copies to match the same naming structure as the first one, to pair with all the other JPG's
9. Open up EOS VR Utility, select the folder location of all the JPG's, select all JPG's, and export out
10. Import the new JPG sequence back into Adobe Premiere if you need to make further finalizing edits, then export out as a regular video file.

And that's it! Hopefully this helps out all fellow filmmakers. ^_^

So the EGO is not the consumer VR180 camera you were talking about to be released early 2022, right?

Perfect in depth tutorial as always by the way!

Hugh, I watch your videos every day to learn more. You are the best. QUESTION: On Premiere Pro Editing, you did color correction and then saved the file. Then you edit the new file? Why is that?

Video idea: the best, currently available (stereoscopic) cameras at different price points. In terms of resolution/sharpness, framerates, pros and cons as for usability, etc. Like, perhaps, the Qoocam, Obsidians, Insta360 Pros, Titan, K1 Pro, Canon R5 with lens, perhaps a custom rig using two 3D cams, and a mirrorless camera or iZugar rig, and the like.
