The BIG advantage with this is that you can change the plug type when travelling, like with other apple chargers. You can't do this with Anker products unfortunately.

This is the perfect charger for someone that travels a lot with multiple Apple products. You can change the plug type with the Travel Kit from Apple + it's pretty compact. You can have one charger for your iPhone, iPad, Airpods, and Macbook, and won't need to carry a socket converter.

This charger was made to be a little paid upgrade to MacBook Airs (which came with 30W chargers) for people who charge their phones by plugging in to MacBook. What this does and other companies don't, that a single port can deliver up to 30W charge and it can be variable as the device needs it. Also, charging phone from MacBook wastes battery cycles and this was designed to prevent that. Imagine the scenario, it fast charges your Mac with 30W first, while normal charging your phone at USB 5W equivalent. Once your Mac is almost charged, your phone can now draw up to 30W and can fast charge.

But I agree, if Apple decided to also sell this at retail, for the price, it should have been the 67W version. They have done this before where the after market MagSafe charger was higher wattage than what came in the box with the Mac.

The iPhone 14 uses a 20w adapter, not 30w as said in the video. So the delta isn’t as bad as it sounds. This is great for charging an iPhone 14 and a watch.
