Easily transfer emails from one account to another

In this video I will show you a way to copy emails from email account A to email account B using Mac Mail. It also works with Microsoft Outlook.

First we will make a backup of your current email account. After that we will create a new email account, configure it using IMAP in Mac Mail and then we will copy files from the old email addres we use in Mac Mail and drag and drop it into the new email address. In that we the emails will be stored on the server of the new email account and in that way you easily have transfered your emails to a different email account.

This is great, thank you! Can you please confirm that once I have transferred all of the emails, can I delete them from their original destination or will this then delete them from the new email inbox too? I'm not sure whether they are permanently copied over or just syncronised temporarily.

i want to change compagny which is bearing my email .... if i do what you suggested, all the emails comming to my previous email, am i going to receive incoming email as previously or should i notify all my connections? thanks

Fantastic Video...i had no idea you are able On MAC to just move with your mouse emails from one account to another...instead of Forwarding it..it saves so much time..Thanks again..YOU ARE THE BEST TEACHER that i have seen so far:-) . Great Video...too bad I don't have a Mac. Outlook is a little bit "lacking" after watching that I think. What if you have a HUGE email account, like 12G Gmail account made with a domain name, and you want to change to host it on the server? If you set up IMAP on the server, you will lose all your contacts and calendar stuff, right? I created a backup email account (.pst POP because you can't create backup .OST folder) ...when I try to copy the whole folders, it says "just on this computer" ...I need to get the folder configuration also because there are hundreds of folders, and I don't want to drag all the emails individually. It won't work. Do you have anything on a PC, or just on Mac?

Why, exactly, do you assume someone has an Outlook setup? If you want people to learn it's better to speak slowly and leave time for people to think about what is being said.
