I needed this so much thank you. The concept of mental assent put me through a ringer regarding faith. Thanks for clearing this up.

One example ive used in times past when speaking with someone about the gospel is take someone who "believes" in Jesus, but only as a prophet . They have faith he existed but not as the Lord ans savior. They dont trust in the finished work of the cross, Though they had an intellectual knowledge of Jesus ..This would categorize them in state of unbelief or " head knolwegde " of Jesus vs one who says i believe that he is Lord and savior which would be a person that has truly been born again by putting "faith" in the death burial and resurrection of Christ . I see some nuance on this area of "faith" in regardes to what a person believes and in whom and it can definitely be a rocky one for sure. Good video 🙏

I really enjoy your videos. I believe what you teach is scriptural and accurate. No sugarcoating.

So, so simple! Why would we want to make it hard on people, when the goal is for them to have understanding and make a life changing choice?!? I've seen way to many people want to have salvation, and then be totally confused by confusing explanations!

As a child.

Child-like faith.

Do children ever actually ever wonder if they’re trusting with head or heart?

No. It’s just simple faith, believing in the person of Jesus and what He did for each of us.

He shed His perfect, sinless blood, and died, was buried and rose again for our justification.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.

Makes sense to me now. It's so simple it's almost 'un-believable'...but then, as you have pointed out from the Word, the Bible, it doesn't matter; Head or Heart, doesn't matter...Trust is the key. That's it!

Sir, I've been battling with this subject for a while. I think you may have put this issue to rest for me, bro. Thanks. Thanks.

Amen, Brother great explanation...trust is all that is needed...some experience emotions (like I did) at the moment of salvation and some don't...as long as you have trusted that Christ did it all for you when He died personally for you...you are saved at that very moment...in the Jewish/Hebrew culture the heart was connected to the mind here is a verse from the bible showing this...Christ Himself said this to the religious leaders of His day...Mathew 9:4 says: And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? Don't miss that phrase...Christ was connecting the heart with the thoughts of these religious leaders...most of the time when you see the word heart in the bible you can replace it with the word mind...the Jewish/Hebrew phrase connected with the emotions was Bowels of Compassion you can see this in 1John But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion ( MEANING YOUR EMOTIONAL RESPONSE) from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? this is talking about a person's emotions...An entire false gospel has been created by saying that you must believe emotionally that Jesus died for you...that it is not enough to mentally understand that He is God and we are lost sinners and the only way to be acceptable before Him is to trust in Him alone. Emotions may or may not play a part in your individual salvation some cry and praise God others Quietly accept the fact that they were saved...they are both the same salvation...A woman made up a song a couple hundred years ago saying to ask Jesus into your heart and that has caused untold confusion in the church...The Heart is just a pumping organ...your emotions and your thoughts come from your mind they do not come from your heart(a pumping organ). Here is another verse that is taken out of its context and is also speaking of your mind...Romans 10 9:10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart (this heart means MIND not your pumping organ) that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Rom 10:10 (this verse explains salvation and the subsequent confession...  For with the heart ( Heart here again means mind) man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto (this word unto means because of) salvation. In context these 2 verses mean a person is saved when he believes in His mind on Christ and because He believes He chooses to confess...this confession is not part of the salvation process but only and outcome of the finished work of Christ after a person has believed...just because someone does not confess Christ does not mean they are not saved as can be seen by some of the Jews in John 12:42... Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: some believers do not confess Christ for fear...like Christians in Islamic countries that would be put to death...they are still saved if they believed...I hope that adds a little more to what our brother has just explained excellently in this video...Blessings to all our brothers and sisters in Christ... Rob :)
