In this tutorial we look at the E2 elimination and the competition it has with the SN2 substitution reaction. During the course of the tutorial we see how the orientation about H-C-C-X torsion angle plays a critical role in the E2 process, giving rise to the necessity of that torsion angle needing to be anti-periplanar.
