Fun fact: the grooves along the grenade are actually break points. If you ever see grenade shrapnel it is all quite evenly sized and relatively square. The grooves also give a more even dispersion of shrapnel to the target area.

Small correction, letting go of the handle is what releases the striker, the pin is what keeps the handle in place. You have as long as you want to throw the grenade as long as you dont let go of the handle

Slight correction: the safety lever usually being held by hand, so grenade won't activate until you throw it, so it's 3-5 seconds after the throw, not to throw

many inaccuracies: Grenades don't set off when the pin is pulled, it does when the spoon is gone. There is different grenades and different times for them, not all grenades are 5 seconds. Some grenades dont even release fragments.

Fun fact, as long as you hold the large external handle, the grenade doesn't start those 5 seconds until you let go of it, and no, you can't reattach it and it work, you accidentally let go of it just fucking chuck that explosive green pinecone
