As a writer who’s been writing for a while honestly I needed this despite not making tons of Gacha stuff. The tips are fantastic for everything revolving around storytelling. So this was helpful to me and tons of other people!

huge tip: make their backstory before making the design
it will help you not get a 'flat susan'

Also some tips for naming your characters:
If you're making a character from this world (or at least similar to it), write a backstory and them make a design. Look at the design for some time and try to draw them perhaps. And by looking at them, you should think of a name soon. It can be made up or already existing.
If it's a character that is from another world, where ✨magic✨ is present, I recommend Latin. For example take the character's trait, who the character is, where they are at (a place, ex. forest) and translate it to Latin. Then mold the translated word to a name like form. Let's say we have a character who is a fairy, lives in the sea and is kind; fairy = mediocris = Mediocria/Mediocrisia, sea = mare = Marer/Maer, kind = benignus = Benignia/Benigina/Benignusia. And voila, you have a fantasy-like name for your character. And the name actually has a "backstory" now. (Feel free to use any of the names I mentioned)

If I had a nickel for every time Beo made a writing tutorial, I'd be a billionaire by now.

Okay, this is a legit literature lesson. I absolutely appreciate you explaining this! I'd love more characters that are well-written so thank you for posting this video!

Adding onto Susan, i think her story would be a great way to show that getting your material needs and wants is very different from getting your emotional needs met! Most people (mainly kids from well-off families) wonder why they aren't happy when they've been "given it all", they also probably constantly hate how privilaged and sad they are, because "someone out there has it worse". And hey, Susan may be one of those folks.

This video is really helpful for me since I want to create OC's who have good writing, so thank you Beo for blessing us!

Thank you! I am planning a voice acted series and I needed this to help plan it out as it will most likely be the spectacle of my channel

Mind if I do an example for myself here? Thanks.

Ok, so my character Dr. Randie, as a flat character is a very smart person, stubborn, and strict.

But as a round character, he's independent and has a craving for adventure! He is very loving to those he's close to, but he struggles with being stubborn and strict. Because he is so used to rules and order so when it's pulled out of line he gets a bit upset. He's incredibly smart because he has to be, the job he has requires him to look closely at details and be extremely focused. He also deals with loads of stress and worry because of his job and lifestyle.

Honestly I think I needed this today, I don't think I'm particularly bad at writing characters I know the do's and don'ts but I was struggling with one today so thanks

Though I don't do gacha this was honestly the best advice for me as a writer who is currently making books and stories currently. I honestly love all your work and how knowledgeable you are and thank you for helping my writers block hehe. As I desperately needed motivation to do my own work 😅

The way you turned Susan into an interesting character is very interesting

these are really good tips! I've been writing for around 8 years, and they're all pretty much accurate, lol

My example of flat vs round:
My oc, Ydaevar.
Flat: Amoral researcher. He has no morals.

Round: Amoral researcher. He researches everything and cares about no one, only knowledge. When he joins Balapan on her quest, he simply thought it would be fun watching her fail but since travelling with her, he has seen how knowledge is only valuable when you use it to help others

…wow. This just taught me more about storytelling than school ever will. Though I’m too lazy to actually write something, this really helped nonetheless!

A good example of a round character has got to be Thanos. He is a villain, but a villain who can feel. I used Thanos as an example on how to write antagonistic characters.

Anyhow, amazing tutorial! Definitely Gave me a few tips💖
