Fix Internet gets disconnected when VPN connects

Does your VPN software block & disconnect the Internet or WiFi connection as soon as it is connected? Is the VPN connected but there is no Internet access on Windows 10? if you face this issue, then this post will help fix the problem. This is an odd situation. You want to use VPN for privacy, and security. However, it keeps disconnecting, and you stay connected to the regular network which is not that secure. It is embarrassing. VPN services are built to work faster, and not slow everything down.

Here are a few suggestions and fixes:

1] Install the latest version of TAP adapter

2] Fix Network related problems

3] Let Client computer use Default gateway

4] Change DNS configuration

5] Check VPN Software Settings

resetting network settings helped me just go to settings < network< advanced network settings< network settings, This fix worked for me after many months.

i have the opisite problem.. my internet dosnt work unless i use a vpn and ive done everything with dns trouble shoots, did the camand prompt too kill switches off everything i just dont know what to do.

after trying the DNS flush my VPN thinks that the closest servers to me are Japan or Korea (connects to them automatically). Is it normal? Before it would connect me to Finland which is indeed the closest country to mine. Btw this all didn't help with the disconnection problem:(

sorry bro none of the above methods could resolve my problem that reads err_proxy_certificate_invalid . so can you please suggest any other methods.. i even uninstalled and reinstalled the chrome browser

It doesn't work for me, still disconnects after VPN connects, I'm using NordVPN

I was able to stop my Ivacy VPN from shutting down only by turning apps back on with “TDUK Unified Debloat toolbox” uncheck all boxes and run the app, which will load all the app that were debloated.
Then the VPN will stop disconnecting Amazon apps and VPN will continue to work. Hopefully TDUK will fix problems soon!

Anyway to solve this on iPad? Whenever I hit connect on ExpressVPN, my WiFi disconnects and the vpn is never able to connect..
