Causality, Explainability and Bayesian Machine Learning

In our fast-moving industry we all need to be more informed than ever to ensure the diversity of experts taking a seat at the tech table. In a series of two interviews, Lisa Loudon – the interviewer with a non-technical background – was challenged to find out more about AI with an aim to reduce its apparent technical complexity. Her research culminated in two interviews with professors of AI working at the Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands: this is the second with Professor Tom Heskes.

We are Machine2Learn, or M2L as we often like to abbreviate our name, and we are experts in Artificial Intelligence. Our team is based in Amsterdam and we specialise in machine learning and deep learning. Our M2L scientific department is headed by Professor Tom Heskes and Professor Marcel van Gerven, two of the world’s leading AI experts. We’re a spin-off from the Radboud University in Nijmegen.

Tom is a pioneer and a world-leading authority on AI. Tom has been at the forefront of AI research and commercially successful solutions since the early 90’s. He is a professor at the Radboud University and a sought-after keynote speaker, filling auditoriums around the world. As Chairman of Machine2Learn, Tom oversees all aspects of our work.
