I currently have a print server and AdGuard running on mine. I found this video because I wanted to add Plex. I wish I found it sooner so I could have installed CasaOS from the start lol. Oh well live and learn

Thank you for this guide, it was pretty much painless. One thing I had to do different was rebooting my rpi4 after installing plex in CasaOS, otherwise it wouldn't start Plex for reasons unknown.

Will these same instructions work if all my media is stored on a NAS? Or would I have to do anything special to be able to add those libraries? Would I still need an external SSDs or would the operating system and everything be able to be installed on an SD card on the Raspberry Pi? I already use Plex but I've been using an old desktop computer as my dedicated Plex host for years and I'm considering replacing it with this.

I would recommend to have a simple raspberry pi and then use debrid service which can hold your media

FYI
Overclocking can lead to insufficient power for peripherals, which happened in my case with my thumb drive, it kept disconnecting my usb stick at random times.
I had to remove the overclocking configs and switch to using the thernet connection instead of wifi module

I don't understand CASA OS. Is it just a cloud server? How much space is on it? I want to have my raspberry pi connected to an external hard drive, and when I want to add files I just install it to the external hard drive, for the plex server.

Great video! All steps are easy to follow for a newbie.

I can add my movies to the movies folder (seems to be local storage- 64 gb)as shown and then view them in PLEX, but this is not storing on my external hard drive (HDD-5 tb). CasaOS see two storage devices, but all files added to HDD are not seen in PLEX library. Any suggestions?

My set up: Installed the OS using a micro SD and have a hard drive (HDD-5tb) for the movies storage.

I was using ubuntu and a usb stick, but it wasn't reliable. Will try this soon. Thanks for sharing.

Not add my media library in my usb storage device. USB Storage is ExFat, I add /mead in Plex settings as they showed in other video, still not working.
