What is ZANZIBAR (Tanzania)?!

HELLO!! Sorry you haven’t heard from me in a few days... I’ve been having WAY too much fun on this beautiful (and seriously underrated) island called ZANZIBAR in TANZANIA to kick off my 2 month, 14-country Africa trip.

Did you know that the phrase “Hakuna Matata” (from the Lion King) actually means “No Worries” in Swahili?! Moreover, did you know that Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of Queen, was born and raised here? There’s so much more uniqueness to this island that I can’t wait to share with you!

I’ve spent the last 3 days in Zanzibar with a few of my best friends from home and a new local friend, Mandela. I cannot believe how perfect these white sand beaches are, combined with a very simple life, lots of fresh fruit (PINEAPPLES) and Rastafarian beach parties — I could easily spend a few months here.

In this video, I aim to educate you about the diverse history of Zanzibar, show you some fun activities happening around the island, and tell you what to expect if you are planning to come here.

Guys please read this. Zanzibar is THE MOST AMAZING PLACE ON THIS EARTH. Ok I have only been to maybe 10 countries in my life but seriously this is my favourite country. The people are sooo friendly, poor (but RICH AT HEART) so humble. The food is amazing, the beaches are stunning. I live in Africa but I never thought I would go here and I have no regrets I want to go back all the time. I met an Italian couple that has been going for the past 10 years they can’t get enough. I specifically went to Paje beach and that was the best. The snorkeling was AMAZING. The spice farms are amazing, I bought so many and now my husband likes my cooking. And By the way lion king is based on Swahili. Hakuna matata Guys. please visit this gorgeous island! Thank you Drew!!
