The History of Religion on Earth series is an extensive treatment that delves into the ancient origins of religion, the constructs of primitive ritual, the institutionalized timelines, and the corruptions within those timelines that have led up to our current religious paradigm. We aim to analyze the current academic consensus but more importantly we want to introduce additional hypotheses that are disallowed by the mainstream.

There is a difference between spirituality and religion. Spirituality, or the process of seeking the ultimate truth is with man since the origin of humanity and will always be there, no matter how hard the Governments try to suppress it. Religion on the other hand is the set of rules and rituals that people came up with in order to please that God, whom they think exists up there.

My wife listened to the preacher at the end and asked what I thought God was, after a lengthy conversation, I finally asked her if she had every done anything where she felt completely at peace, walking in woods, sitting on a creek, messing with her plants, or playing with her grandkids? Just anything that brings complete peace, where the rest of the world falls away. That, THAT is what God is, the feeling of complete peace. Of course, I was told that is not what God is, lol. Some just want the overbearing parent as a God.

After spending several years in the Arctic we see annually an event similar to the hypothesis of a dryas period event every spring, we call it “BREAK UP”, sometimes break up occurs without a hitch and other times it is violent and destructive. It’s a natural event, MOTHER NATURE going through her natural cycles. The last glacial maximum was not earths first nor will it be it’s last. If you’ve never experienced break up it is an awesome natural event and flowing ice carves away whatever is in the way of the floe. It happens incredibly fast sometimes or can be a long drawn out process. Some rivers flow right out while some areas the ice piles up and it causes extensive destructive flooding. These events are memorable to the people who experience them even today.

In my view, the idea of a God came before that of religion, which in turn came as a creation from early humans to order chaos. By doing this, the early humans were able to understand physical and climatic phenomena like rain, lightning, wind, which were essential to the survival of the group.

Thus, by acquiring a common belief, common chaos is also explained. It is not by chance that the Sun, the Moon and the Universe is depicted with god-like characteristics in ancient cultures like the Egyptian or the Mayan to name a few.

Therefore, Religion is the ultimate expression of the order of chaos created by humankind.

It's very important to show how religion evolves through history, because people think "God revealed it, so it's true", but it's not as simple as that. Religions are indeed human constructs and interpretations of reality, and are by no means the complete truth, as it's impossible for human constructs to hold it (it's like trying to put the ocean in a cup of water and saying that's the complete ocean). Our own perception is limited, as even religion admits when they say we can't see everything around us, so how can we have the complete truth?
