It would be nice to get a Z90 or some upgrade to apsc in the >$1600 range for sports and wildlife.

Hello both, it will be interesting to see what Nikon brings out on the 10 of May. I thing it is great news about the Red vs Nikon court case, I just hope that Nikon did not just pay. Let's just hope it all over.

I believe that the Z8 will replace the Z6-Z7II and will undercut the Canon R5 in US $. Found out that the Z7II cannot crop in Movie Mode. But still love the camera. So the question is Grays would you rather have the Z8 or Zf Retro? Now Kon answer the question. Just believe that the Z8 will replace the mid tier full frame Nikon cameras. Cheers!

We need a new GP-1 for those of us that hate using SnapBridge for GPS.

What are your thoughts on a Z90 as the second body we see this year? As far as holes in the body lineup (assuming we see a Z8 next week), a crop sensor wildlife camera feels like the last piece of the puzzle that we are missing from the DSLR days. That feels like the next logical move IMHO.

I have had a D850, have a Z7ii but I am looking for a XT5 in a Nikon Z camera and a 14 mm 1.8 Nikon lens. The 200-600 if 5.6 won’t hurt at all as well. What do you say of my wish list?😅

The 180-600 has been done as a f8, It was expensive, this is a complete new design. this one will be closer to the Tamron 150-600 G2. That SHOULD come almost on the May 10th Event Date. The 28 % carbon fiber was a great move. The price will be about $3999. I will add one to my Z 9 etc.. RED stood NO CHANCE whatsoever!

It might be crazy to some... but I bought a Z6ii, ftz2, and 24-120 f4 last week. I rented one the weekend before and had a blast shooting with it. Decided to go ahead and begin the switch to mirrorless. Long term the z6ii may become a back-up body or get converted to capture H alpha astro. I wonder if the resolution of the Red suit will also allow Nikon to release firmware updates for the ii bodies.

I really hope you're wrong about that pricing. It won't come close to being low enough for the majority. Over £4K for any camera for most people other than pros who make a fantastic living or rich enthusiasts is completely out of the question. I just hope they bring out an option for between £2K and £2.5K, video centric and decent AF. Many people don't care about more than 25MP or fancy sensors. We just want video AF that actually tracks as it's supposed to, with decent 10-bit video. Basically, what the Z6ii should have been. I love my Z6ii but do feel conned into going for that rather than the much cheaper Z6.

I am both excited to finally see what the Z8 will look like and it capabilities. I'm also excited because I'll be traveling to London the latter part of this month and I MUST see your store. Can you say "kid in a candy store"? Lol

Having the RED vs. Nikon case dismissed is huge! Nikon will no longer have this legal Damoclese Sword hanging over its head and impeding progress. I expect progress to improve significantly from now on.

If the Z9 and the D850 had a baby, it will sell really well

I don’t see a Z7III coming out. As being a 45.7 mp along with the Z8 and Z9. A new Z6III would be a nice announcement soon. The 135mm would be a great announcement also. Not a good choice for Nikon and opening in California, to high taxes along with so many other downsides. I use to live just 74 miles from Kodak and they use to send me film samples to try out. I have use quite a few film stocks that aren’t available to the public.
Both of you have a great week. 📷

Not like everybody else, I believe the z8 would not be sold so well, since it targeted customers leaning more toward Sony's Hybrid shooter. According to the leak 4599 euro price, it's around 4999 USD. I waited for this for around a year but I would not bite unless they have a price tag lower than four grand, especially the same or a little higher than A7RV.

Nikon needs to introduce several new camera with similar or better AF of the Z9 this year, in order to keep up with there competition. With that being said a Nikon ZF FF cameras doesn't make any sense.

I love Becky's Z8 scepticism! I think her motto is "I will believe it when I see it". I totally agree.

Here's why it could be 200-600 or 180-600... There is a precedent for both in Nikon's history. besides the 180/2.8, they made a 180-600/8.0 ED AiS Zoom from 77 to the late 90s. It was most likely a custom order lens, only 700 or so were made and the cost in the mid 80's was about $3500. I actually bought a nice condition one last year that was made around 1985, it popped up on a local sale site and I couldn't believe it. It was in the original box. It would be fun to take a photo of the old one and a new one side by side at some point. It looks like the old 80-200/4.5 AiS push-pull zoom, but WAY bigger and heavier. There is also a precedent for the 200-600 zoom. Nikon made a 200-600/9.5 zoom from about 1970 to 1983. Neither of these were giant sellers, due to the cost and slow max aperture. You would need special focusing screens without the micro prism in the center that would basically be black in the viewfinder due to so little light coming in.

Red vs Nikon was dismissed w/o prejudice means that either party could reopen the suit. If there were payments, it would have been dismissed w prejudice.

There is no 8 because there is no Z8 anywhere to copy from. They took the Z from a Z9 and pasted it on this picutre.
