In this video I show you how to revive old steel model railway track using the Hornby track I got in last weeks Rocket Railways Mystery Box. The track used in this video is now on my layout and has presented no problems so far.

Yes, my production value has increased. Thank you for noticing.

The big job is keeping the track clean, those track rubbers are not too recommended by many railway modelers

STEEL TRACK - A PATH TO BIG TROUBLE !
Steel track ! Only leads to big troubles with locomotives ! Indeed steel track should be banned. For modern models you need Nickel Silver track (Such as Peco streamline, NEM Code 75) which interfaces both mechanically & electrically a lot better with MODERN locomotive models. (That's post NEM Conference compliant products). Most of which now also have Nickel Silver wheels, or Chromium plated brass wheels.

Further Steel track has increased problems of cleaning as steel will rust ! And you'll need to invest in a Case Load of track rubbers, and a mini-hoover to suck up all the dirt created by using a track rubber !
