Suspicion over damaged pipeline grows

European defence experts say that only a state actor like Russia would be able to breach the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

Finland says it's watching its territorial waters very closely following the explosions, while Norway’s Prime Minister says its military will also be on alert at oil and gas installations.

The damage occurred in a US controlled security zone. US helicopters were in the exact same area surveying just days before the incident. The murky world that we live in!

Russia could technically turn off the taps from the source. Why go through the trouble of sabotaging their own pipeline when EU countries are still making payments for deliveries?

Nobody is talking about the protests, in Germany, concerning the citizens demanding the opening of Nord Stream 2. Hopefully, Germany will enjoy working with the Polish government with their new Baltic Pipeline that opened at the same time as Nord Stream 1 and 2 blew a hole.

for the past few days, USA and NATO vessels were patrolling the area.

So Russia blows up its best bargaining chip and travels into NATO controlled and US warship patrolled waters, just off the northern coast of Germany to do so. This was in spite of being able to turn off the whole thing from the comfort of the Kremlin, something they have been doing as of late anyway. US naval ships have been in the area for the past two weeks and were speedily leaving the vicinity only a few hours before the blast. Of course the yanks did not do it themselves but Israeli special forces would be prime candidates for this sort of thing. Of course, now Germany is no longer beholden to Russian gas and does not need to protect that relationship with a lack of adherence to sanctions, it can start coughing up euro's to fight the good fight.
