APPOINTMENT OF AUDITOR FOR SOCIETY
a. Appointment of auditor should be done by the general body of
the society
b. The auditor should be appointed from a panel of auditors empanelled by the government of maharashtra
c. The audit conducted by the auditor should be uploaded on the website of the society so that it is viewable by all concerned
d. The auditor appointed by the society can only work for three years on appointment. Every three years, the auditor has to be changed.
e. As per rules, the consent of the auditor should be taken before his appointment
f. The auditor should be given an appointment letter to inform him that he has been appointed as an auditor for a society
g. If the general body fails to appoint an auditor, then the responsibility of doing that falls on the sub-registrar. He appoints an auditor from his own panel of auditors.
h. If the return of the society is not uploaded on the website of the society then as per law, the general body of that society will be pulled up by law and they will be suspended from occupying any positions for a period of 5 years from the date of execution of the government order of suspension of the general body
i. The appointment of the auditor and the uploading of the society’s return on the website is mandatory and if there is any gaffe in this, then those committee members will be suspended.
