I love hip hop yet After seeing things like Diddy and all that, then sellouts like Snoop Dogg and Nelly my heart is honestly hurt. I feel like you are one of the few who are holding it down for true hip hop and for the culture and I am so so so grateful and honored that it’s you holding it down. Thank you 🙏. I feel that you are in position for a reason. You have always inspired me and even more so now.

I feel like this song is for all the African Americans and minorities who perhaps have gotten caught up in the lies and don’t love themselves like this young black man that just shot up this school. He had black hating rhetoric and beliefs in his posts and journals. We’ve come so far as a black race and human race as well yet we are still with a ways to go.

This song is like an anthem to me right now, for African Americans and minorities mainly (and also to anyone else that needs to hear it), reminding us that regardless of whoever lied to us in our lives about our true identities that we are beautiful and that we are loved. It is also a reminder that we (as African Americans and indigenous people) do need to set those boundaries around our self worth and our personal self image of ourselves and remind ourselves that we are kings and queens and we are beautiful and talented and have been, honestly the starters, sparkers and catalysts for almost everything single thing that humans call modern day living. That is greatness and we are just that, great.
