Ferrari F8 Tributo Review // Hold Me Closer

The 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo (~$447,920 CAD converted, $358,783 USD as specced) may just be the last Ferrari of its kind. Ferrari is progressing towards smaller displacement, hybrid engines. The F8 Tributo however, still proudly displays its 3.9L mid-engine V8 beneath an F40 inspired Lexan cover. Assisted by twin-turbos that have been designed to reduce turbo lag, a mighty 710 horsepower and 568 lb feet of torque are easily accessible by the driver. But how is it to drive on a canyon road? And how does it compare to Ferraris of the past, such as the legendary 458? Thomas and James are excited to see what the F8 Tributo is all about. We hope you enjoy the episode! SUBSCRIBE!

That scene where Thomas says “I feel like I’ve been dancing my whole life” felt very Jeremy Clarkson-esque in the BEST way possible. Watching your reviews truly gives me the same feeling I used to get watching OG top gear as a kid growing up

There’s a bunch of folks that mention this all the time, but you guys don’t make just great automotive reviews, you guys make amazing automotive entertainment.

It’s prefect!

“I can’t dance in real life but driving this through here I feel like I’ve been dancing my whole life” what a statement

I think it’s very interesting that the F8 and the F12 both received similar existential car questions like, “Is 700 horsepower too much?” Jeremy Clarkson’s review of the F12 was beautiful and now this ties in very nicely

The 458 Italia is my favorite Ferrari ever produced. Incredible car. Of course I could be biased, because it's also only 1 of 2 Ferrari's I have ever had the pleasure of driving/riding in. That NA V8 was pure bliss.

"They didn't watch the Roma review, did they?
I guess not."

I felt that.

I legitimately strive to be as beautiful articulate as both Thomas and James. The way you both tie current events along with innovation is on a next level. Linguistically, your work is masterful and I commend you both so much. This is by and large some of the best auto related content I’ve ever witnessed and I’m forever influenced positively for it. Especially as we collectively delve into a new realm of energy and transportation. Thank you.

6:48 I love that the speedometer is smaller than the "OK" button on the driver assistance warning screen.
"Sorry officer, I honestly didn't know how fast I was going because I couldn't find my speedometer."

This masterpiece of a video perfectly justifies everything about the car. Beautiful!

Seriously though, the F8 is a beautiful machine. Especially in an era of bloated stagecoach like SUVs, a pure sports car, a canyon carver, a tracker twister and a route router is impressive. Twenty years from now we will all sigh and tell our grandkids " I remember when cars didn't run on tracks and you could steer them yourself...." Oh kudos to the drone guy, nice footage.

I prefer the looks of this one over the 458

I own an F8 and this is the most succinct review I've ever seen on it. Matches my comments on the forums perfectly as well. It is so light and lithe feeling. So sinewy it its body motions and composure in the turns. The power is sensational, and I love how in race mode it'll let me black stripe the road in second and third gear with a decent amount of oversteer correction without intervening. Wonderful machine!

You guys must have absolutely hustled your assess off to get all of these cars while out in California. You are officially the snowbirds of auto reviewers, I hope this becomes an annual thing... Unless you're never coming back to Ontario. Congrats guys on having the best auto review channel on YT. Keep it up.

Even though I like the design of Ferraris as of late, I still think about how much better would a new Ferrari look if it was designed by Pininfarina. The new designs are not as timeless and elegant.

My family has been Ferrari collectors since the 60s. My grandfather, my father, and now me. The only car that has made my father cry from enjoyment is his 512 BBI. The screaming V12 of that car, with the cream interior, overlooking the red hood tied with the two toned contrast black bottom skirts, with a manual transmission... my father still gets emotional when he drives it. When I took delivery of my tailored F8, the drive home was emotional to me, because I knew it was the pinnacle of mid engine Ferrari. Additionally, I knew it was the last time I would be leaving my dealer in a mid engine Ferrari with all power being provided from an V8 internal combustion engine. I didn't care about the sound, the lack of a manual... it was the smell, the G's I felt in my hips under curves, the leathers, the tactile switches, the feeling of emotional connection, its sensational.
