The pickle lady was ridiculous but she was also kind of spooky. Everything about her was uncanny, not just the insane number of times she said pickles but the way she spoke and the weird idle animation they had her in, swaying with her arms out up front. Then the fact that all the characters mouths don’t move when they speak but their heads bob about as it speaking. Still super entertaining though! 😂

warrens motives were probably a mix of both sides. first he wanted to sell the eggs and when he saw how charles grew after some eggs were destroyed he went full psycho-mode cuz he was actually trying to protect the islanders at that point.

This game was at least partially inspired by Charlie the Choo-Choo, a character in Stephen King's Dark Tower series (there was later an illustrated book by the same name). I would say it also owes at least a little to It, as the final form of Pennywise was a giant cosmic *female* spider that had also laid eggs.

I can't remember who's playthrough it was but I think there was a note somewhere talking about Gus the Bus - a bus that even Charles fears. I really hope that's a hint to another game in the works!

really interesting game and great video. a sequel would be cool, especially if it offer more backstory on the spiders and the island itself

Came across this channel a few weeks ago and have been binge watching the L&O series. Exactly the kind of series I like watching.

Dunno what to say but Charles service cost and range must have been off the rails 😅
Well think Charles/spiders is like a apex predator of the land so if u do manage to kill em , out of the balancing nature a new one would be born so the Warren was right in a sense to keep the hatched one alive since u can't kill em all the same way if they have a hive mind and are aware of the last one died.

Didn't actually think this game as a good lore, but it actually kinda interesting.

I suggest The Chant if you're looking for a good horror game to explore the lore.

Holy crap I didn’t know this was the origin story for the gentleman that would later become known as “The Man In The Yellow Hat” and how he came to posses said hat, finally completing his all yellow ensemble, while also becoming the “dad” to Curious George!




Also “The Man In The Yellow Hat” is another avatar for Hastur “The Unspeakable”.

Nice catch with the name of the island translating to "Spider's Web". I thought the island's name would have something to do with the ultimate conflict, but I'm not as good translating Latin as I am with French.
