Watch for the sword glint then double tap L1 and you'll parry both hits. It takes him down so quickly. It does take a but of practice but it's the best way to beat him.

If you are on low level you can cheese this boss easily by just running to your left then when he attacks, hit him once... rinse and repeat. Also sabimaru is very effective too... took like half of his hp

I am on NG+ and I can safely say that you cannot do this. You cannot tank this guy tsubame gaeshi. It will kill you on the spot.

After dying like 100 times, what worked best for me was to parry the first atack and immediately follow up with the axe attack, the fight was fun finished with just 4 movements...

I struggled initially but found that throwing a Shuriken and following in the slash attack worked. He blocks the Shuriken with his sword, which nullifies his main attack, as his sword needs to be sheathed for him to use that. Parrying his other attacks isn't too difficult from there. If he does sheath his sword, back off and rinse and repeat. I didn't have the prosthetic that was used in this but now that I seen this I will certainly be trying it.

God I love this game this has to b the funnest boss fight yet me not being an intellectual would have never figured out how to beat him if it wasn’t for this video lol

This extremely extremely late but this is a tip that I learned from this boss and can help anyone through out the WHOLE game. If you are a RIGHTY, switch deflect and attack in the menu, Ik it takes a while to get used to after playing for so long, BUT this made me deflect perfectly because it’s more natural or something idk. It worked for me.

it's extremely easy to beat this guy once you realize all you have to do is walk around him to your left. He always does that same swing with his sword and he goes right over your head every time
