Disraeli and One Nation: UK Conservatism

Показать описание
Disraeli was a dashing UK Conservative PM in the 19th Century that championed the people's concerns. He outdid Gladstone on the issue of electoral reform and successfully passed legislation on workplace safety, housing quality and corruption. On the last issue he did away with the last of the rotten boroughs that survived from the Great Reform Act of 1832. He kept Peel's reforms of the Corn Laws despite earlier opposition and was one of the great statesman of the Victorian period who prevailed against initial daunting odds.
