Top 10 'Britpop' Riffs

If I did a video on guitar music in the '90s it would be a huge task because of how much there was of it. As well as all the stuff that was going in in America, there was a whole other scene in Great Britain with the likes of Suede, Blur and Oasis. I'm not sure if these bands faired quite as well in the U.S and overseas but they were massive here. Here are 10 of the best, but I could have done plenty more. Feel free to disagree! Also, if you feel like leaving a 'super thanks' donation to help the channel (shown at the bottom of the screen), it would help me out a lot. Cheers!

Great that you included Suede, one of the most underappreciated bands ever. Bernard Butler and Richard Oakes are both incredible guitarists. And their new record slaps.

Graham coxon was the best guitarist in all of britpop. No other came close to his creativity and uniqueness with his riff style and playing. You know a coxon riff when you hear one

suede are kinda underrated even among britpop listeners! but their first, second and third albums are masterpieces with perfect guitar work from Butler and Oakes! thanks for including these ones :)

A nod to Butler AND Oakes - bravo 👏. Class inclusion of The Bluetones, Adam Devlin is underrated.

I can’t believe someone actually included the Bluetones. They’re such a good band

2:16! Was listening to this just earlier today! Great track. Animal Nitrate by Suede also has a great intro.

the 90s... where even music labeled "pop" was flooded with the rich sound of electric guitar... Oasis first albums with all this wonderful distortion were my favorite

The Seahorses are very underrated, thanks for including them!

Two more that could have been included: Chemical World by Blur and My Insatiable One by Suede. The last one is criminally underrated

The most interesting and least derivative riffs are the Coxon and Butler offerings.

Suede was probably the best guitar band during that era .. We are the pigs !

That Seahorses riff is a bit of fried gold.

Riverboat Song! Nice. That means much more to us Brits in our late 30s + as it was used on a popular Friday night tv show called TFI Friday which featured many of the Britpop bands at the time.

When you did Beautiful Ones I thought "he should have gone for Metal then it came up next!😁 Love that song so much!

I didn't listen Suede so much in the 90s tbh, but I've been listening a lot recently to their first album and it's just so great!

"There's no other way" is definitely my favourite Blur riff too!
